The following are the Islamic-Resistance operations that took place during the month of October in 1999

Islamic Resistance Performs 121 Operations in October 1999

The military operations against the "Israeli" enemy and Lahd agents in West Beqaa and the South were 231, twenty-eight operations less than the month before.

"The Islamic Resistance" performed 121, "the Amal Movement" 85, "the Lebanese Brigades for Resisting the "Israeli" Occupation" 16, "the National Resistance" 5, and "the Islamic Jihad" 2.

Significantly, two incidents revealed the great impact of the resistance's operations on the "Israeli" enemy soldiers:

On October 11, 1999, two Merkava tanks collided in ar-Rihan region. Two soldiers suffered injury and were transported on a helicopter to occupied Palestine.
In another incident, an "Israeli" soldier was wounded while bombarding the liberated regions with a mortar cannon, the enemy's radio declared. The radio did not specify where the incident occurred, however.

The enemy as well said that 3 "Israeli" soldiers were injured in "different accidents", also that 3 others were wounded by the Islamic-Resistance operations. The enemy said that 3 Lahd militiamen were wounded and 3 others were killed in the operations, too.

The Islamic Resistance confirmed the same number of casualties but said 3 more Lahd militiamen were wounded.

Islamic Resistance Attacks ar-Rihan Barracks, October 7, 1999

On October 7, 1999, the Islamic-Resistance fighters again overcame all strict measures the enemy had begun to take. The fighters violently clashed with the "Israeli" enemy soldiers.

(Less than ten days earlier, the fighters performed a successful operation.)
A Resistance group lay in wait at the entrance of the Zionist ar-Rihan Barracks. As a motorcade of Zionist commanders reached the required spot, the fighters fiercely machine-gunned it and launched their rocket shells against it. The fighters saw the casualties with the naked eye.

Instantly, a Zionist squad in ar-Rihan Barracks appeared to reinforce the motorcade attacked. Thus, another Resistance group positioned at a close distance attacked it, causing it many casualties, and foiling its mission.
For now, a third Resistance group attacked the Lahd ar-Rihan Barracks. The fighters' firearms and rocket shells set several vehicles afire, and smoke arose from the barracks.

A fourth Resistance group as well attacked a Lahd force at "the Red Square" in ar-Rihan region. The Lahd militiamen suffered serious casualties, therefore.
For their part, other groups of "the Islamic-Resistance Fire Backup Unit" bombarded the cannonade emplacement at az-Zaffata Site, bringing about serious loss.

As more enemy reinforcements approached the operation zone, the fighters attacked a Zionist motorcade in Kassaret el-Oroush region and another on ar-Rihan Hills.
Clashes lasted nearly an hour, during which both enemy motorcades suffered serious casualties.

Soon, enemy war planes engaged in the battle. But "the Islamic-Resistance Fire Backup Unit" counterattacked them with land antiaircraft artillery, forcing them to retreat from the operation zone.

The enemy acknowledged that the operation wounded "two" "Israeli" soldiers and killed Lahd Corporal Aadel Khalil.
The Lahd Militia's radio, however, said Corporal Khalil "died", but its television mentioned no news on this.

Chief of the so-called "Liaison Unit" General Benny Gantz had been on one of the motorcades targeted, the "Israeli" channel declared. The command of the "Israeli" military launched an investigation to figure out whether Hizbullah had learned about the general's course, added the channel.
General Gantz was on a visit to ar-Rihan Site.

Lebanese Brigades Perform Two Operations, October 19, 1999

On October 10, 1999, "the Lebanese Brigades for Resisting the "Israeli" Occupation" launched rocket shells against at-Tohra Site, causing it serious casualties.

The Brigades as well attacked ad-Dabsheh Site. The Brigades fighters' rocket shells and cannonade resulted in serious damage to the site fortifications.

Operation Bir Kallab, October 22, 1999

On October 22, 1999, the Islamic-Resistance fighters attacked Bir Kallab Site. The fighters' machineguns and rocket shells brought about serious casualties to the site. One of the Lahd militiamen was transported to a hospital in occupied Palestine as he was severely wounded.

Operation Aramta-ar-Rihan, October 28, 1999

On October 28, 1999, some Islamic-Resistance fighters bombed a heavy explosive while a Lahd motorcade of 3 vehicles was on Aramta-ar-Rihan Route. An M-113 halftrack was demolished, and each of the Lahd militiamen on it was wounded or killed. The fighters then opened fire on the surviving militiamen, resulting in more casualties.

As reinforcements arrived to evacuate the casualties, the fighters attacked them with their rocket shells and machineguns, resulting in further casualties.
"One" Lahd militiaman, Kaamel ad-Damouri, was killed, acknowledged the enemy.

Operation Sojod-ar-Rihan, October 29, 1999

On October 29, 1999, the Islamic-Resistance fighters bombed a heavy explosive while a Lahd patrol was on Aramta-ar-Rihan Route.
(Less than 24 hours earlier, the Resistance performed an operation on Aramta-ar-Rihan Route.)
An M-113 halftrack was damaged, and each of the Lahd militiamen on it was killed or injured.

The fighters then opened fire on the surviving patrollers, bringing about further casualties. The remaining patrollers were forced to retreat to ar-Rihan.
Meanwhile, another group of fighters attacked Sojod Site.

The fighters violently clashed with the occupation forces for 45 minutes, security sources mentioned. Both used a mass of rocket shells and middle and heavy machineguns.
"A" Lahd militiaman was killed, the enemy acknowledged.
