Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah assured that all the Lebanese are responsible of safeguarding the national interests of Lebanon, highlighting that the biggest threat Lebanon, its lands, water and oil resources have been facing is the "Israeli" threat.

During an Iftar banquet organized by the Islamic Resistance Support Organization in Beirut on Tuesday, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the resistance's experience has been the richest and most successful in confronting the "Israeli" enemy. He assured saying "The army-people-resistance formula has been successful in Lebanon and we're concerned with preserving it and strengthening its elements."

Hizbullah S.G. addressed the issue of arming the Lebanese army, stressing on the importance of this armament and on the importance of an unconditional armament saying "We all agree on equipping the army, especially after the Odeisseh confrontation that has many indications." He went on to reiterate that all agree on arming the Lebanese army which can be realized through different options, such as through a budget or through funds, adding that the popular donations do not properly equip the army, rather these donations hold moral and ethical value.

Sayyed Nasrallah, reminding of the Odeisseh confrontation in which "Israel" violated Lebanon's sovereignty where 2 Lebanese soldiers and a reporter were martyred and an "Israeli" colonel killed, said " The Americans expect that the weapons granted to the army are not granted for the sake of fighting "Israel", but rather for domestic reasons they describe as counterterrorism. This was exposed after the Odeisseh incident as the debate started."

Moreover, Sayyed Nasrallah continued that there remains a last option on arming the army, which is that the Lebanese government determine what kind of weapons its army needs and ask the Arab neighboring and friend countries to provide the Lebanese army with some of the stockpiles of weapons they own.

As for Iran, Hizbullah Secretary General called on the Lebanese government to take a decision on asking Iran to support and equip the army, stressing that Hizbullah will work hard to achieving this goal.

Sayyed Nasrallah said this issue demand can be proposed during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon that will take place almost mid-September, reiterating that the Islamic Republic has been always supporting Lebanon -since 28 years- and will not refrain from equipping the army and helping Lebanon.

On the espionage issue, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that Lebanon is engaged in an open war with the "Israeli" enemy, calling upon the Lebanese judiciary to act in an urgent manner away from routine procedures. He called for putting death sentences into effect, saying it is not an act of revenge, rather it is an attempt to affect the disposition to collaborate with the enemy.

Sayyed highlighted that there are old collaborators but there are many new ones as well, and so bringing death sentences into effect would restrain those who might think of collaborating with the enemy.

Hizbullah S.G. assured to those who want to penetrate the body of the resistance that it is reinforced, stressing that the proof to that is the divine victory the resistance achieved in the July 2006 "Israeli" aggression on Lebanon.

Sayyed Nasrallah also tackled the issue of false witnesses. He referred to the words of the spokeswoman of the Special Triunal for Lebanon on Monday, where she said that the STL was not concerned with the false witnesses, nor is the Lebanese judiciary. Sayyed Nasrallah said the spokeswoman's statement was odd, questioning if the Lebanese judiciary has become under the jurisdiction of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

As for the talk on the inexistence of false witnesses, Sayyed Nasrallah said there are some who try to delude the investigation, and there are those who made them and it is an issue that the Hizbullah will follow till the very end, until reaching the truth.

On the evidences related to accusing the "Israeli" enemy of involvement in the assassination of Former PM Rafiq Hariri, Sayyed Nasrallah said he presented these evidences to the Lebanese judiciary upon demand of the Lebanese Prime Minister. He added that this step is not in recognition of the STL, rather it is a step of cooperation with the Lebanese government and judiciary in order to help uncover the truth.

Sayyed Nasrallah then moved on to tackle the electricity and water crisis in the country, saying that the protests that took place were not politically motivated. Answering those who accused the opposition of having attempts to bring down the government, His Eminence said the opposition does not need the streets to topple the government, rather it will do so in the parliament. He reiterated that there are no such intentions, and that such accusations are nonsense.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed this crisis needs urgent action from the government, warning any "intelligence sides" from trying to cause clashes between the people and the security forces.
He also called on the government to consider building a nuclear plant for peaceful purposes to provide energy, and on the water crisis as well, he called for building water damns to preserve this natural resource.

Sayyed Nasrallah concluded his speech by highlighting the "golden equation", which is the tripartite formula to protect Lebanon; the army-people-resistance formula.
