Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah, Sheikh Naim Qassem said we cannot say that the climates today forecast an "Israeli" aggression in the air, yet the resistance is forever at work making preparations to face such possibility, whether in the future or as a surprise at any given moment.
In an interview with the channel 'Russia Today', Sheikh Qassim was asked about statements made by the head of Fatah-Intifada, Colonel Abu Moussa, regarding an unwillingness to hand over Palestinian weapons outside the camps, to which he replied: "We would not respond to remarks made by Abu Moussa. We are committed to the outcome of the Dialogue Table, which addresses the issue of Palestinian weapons outside the camps by giving the Lebanese state control over it one way or another. This is to take place following a dialogue between the Lebanese political authority and concerned Palestinians in this regard."
He added saying "What is required is for dialogue to commence on the Palestinian arms outside the camps, so that it reachs the results agreed on at the Dialogue Table; we have no other inclination."
Sheikh Qassim confirmed saying: "We are with forming a committee for abolishing political sectarianism, provided this committee is more like a consultative process, because in the final end, decisions must be made with unanimous backing, thereofre an agreement must be reached before then," wondering "Why the fear of consensus?"
Regarding Mitchell's mission, Sheikh Qassem said "Envoy Mitchell wastes his time, and distorts the facts, because 'Israel' will not respond to any idea, so therefore we expect his mission to fail. We even consider that the entire settlement is faltering and a failure." He pointed out that "We always call for practical solutions, and the practical solution in this case is for the rights to be returned to their rightful owners, where the Palestinians regain their land, and support is given to the resistance, because it is the side capable of standing in the face of 'Israeli' ambitions."
