Sheikh al-Azhar Ahmad al-Tayyeb expressed on Friday that Islam is proud of the presence of the great Mujahed (resistance fighter) His Eminence Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
During a meeting with journalists and political activists of the Egyptian Nasserite movement, Sheikh al-Tayyeb affirmed that as a Muslim Mujahed, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, alongside his loyal men, taught the Zionist enemy some unforgettable lessons.
On another hand, Shiekh al-Azhar pointed out that the ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had incited him several times to issue religious advisory opinions (fatwas) against Shiite Muslims, and in particular against Hizbullah.
Furthermore, Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb stated that some figures of the Mubarak regime sought to pressure him, through indirect threats, into doubting the Shiites' doctrine. However, Sheikh al-Azhar confirmed that he always rejected such a notion, for he was aware that it was due to political motivations.
