The head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun said on Wednesday that Dahyieh's explosion issue is being blown out of proportion.

Speaking to reporters following his bloc's weekly meeting, Aoun emphasized that it is the responsibility of the intelligence apparatuses to reveal the crime assailants. He went on to say that it is important that no crime, regardless of its nature, lead to unrest and confrontation.

In another topic, Aoun wondered whether the municipal election would occur on time. "We want to know if municipal elections will take place on the specified date and we hope that official authorities bear their responsibilities," Aoun pointed out.

While thanking the US ambassador in Lebanon Michele Sisson for her "jealousy" on Lebanon, Aoun urged her to take care of situation at the borders instead of focusing on the Resistance weapons.

The Free Patriotic Movement, meanwhile, reminded the Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea that he warned him of confrontations in Lebanon and how it would put the Lebanese at stake. "MP George Adwan was present during the meeting, of which the content was not disclosed to the media," Aoun said.

"The Christians have made their choice. All religions emerged from the Levant. Our roots and choices are here. We have lived here and will continue to live here. All calls for violence are against God," Aoun pointed out. "We do not want fighting parties, but cooperating ones," he concluded.
