The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc welcomed the announcement of diplomatic relations between Syria and Lebanon, and said it hoped it would bring relief to the Lebanese.
In a statement released after a party meeting on Wednesday, the bloc said that establishing diplomatic relations should be an incentive for stabilizing the situation in the country through mutual interests.
The bloc called for the cooperation of all parties in broadening the reconciliation process, and supporting the army and security agencies to bolster safety throughout Lebanon, especially in areas "which have witnessed criminal bombs lately."
The bloc welcomed President Michel Suleiman's visit to Saudi Arabia, which, it said, it expected have positive implications for Arab relations.
The bloc also said it had proposed an amendment to the article 21 of the constitution that would lower the voting age from 21 to 18.
