The loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc discussed the latest local developments and congratulated General Jean Kahwaji on his appointment as army commander, noting that wide national missions await him in the new presidential reign.
In a statement it issued after meeting in Parliament under its head MP Mohamad Raad, the bloc praised the national stances of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in the Nabatiyeh festival. It confirmed the failure of the policies of betting on a delusive international change. "The experience proved, more than once, that the approach of obstinacy and bidding as well as the passion for dreaming roles at the cost of Lebanon's unity cannot solve the country crises," the statement read.
The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc also expressed its deep regret of the chopper incident that resulted in the martyrdom of Captain Samer Hanna on Thursday. The statement added that "positive cooperation between the Resistance, army and relevant judicial authority guarantees alone to put the record straight."
Meanwhile, the bloc noted the need to solve the crises of overpriced food and the rising costs of living, speed up the amendment of wages, and expand health and social benefits.
It concluded by calling for the reduction of electricity and telephone bills for Lebanese citizens.
