The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc renewed its position on holding "Israel" fully responsible for the "terrorist act" which claimed the life of Hizbullah security official Imad Mognieh last Tuesday in Damascus.
The bloc said "Israel" was conducting "organized crimes of terror aimed at the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine." They said they believe Mognieh's "martyrdom" was "a turning point for a new era of confrontation" with "Israel" in which the resistance would "prove the merit of our martyrs and mujahideen in the liberation of our land and people from the arrogance and haughtiness of 'Israel'."
After its periodic meeting, the bloc issued a statement saying that "the phenomenon of arms and the unfortunate tensions in the streets of Beirut" reveal a sharp political division. "This is a serious indicator of the deteriorating situation in the country, which is further exacerbated by the tense speeches of the pro-government forces."
The bloc said that the pro-government team is seeking to disrupt state institutions and create "parallel" institutions at all levels - "administrative, economic and security" - and "build a state of domination and hegemony within the official state of Lebanon."
The bloc pointed out the "ruling team's insistence on dismantling the homeland," adding that inciting sectarian and religious clashes is "a service to 'Israel' and its masters in the American administration" and poses a serious threat to the unity of Lebanon and its co-existence and civil peace.
The bloc emphasized that the only way to save Lebanon is through national consensus and true partnership in political decisions. Internal stability, they said, could only come through "balanced representation" in government and a fair electoral law which is acceptable to everyone.
