Chief of General Staff of the "Israel" Army Forces, Benny Gantz threatened Lebanon and its government of an imminent war, pointing out that the "Israeli" Army is able and ready to engage in war with Hizbullah, and holds the Lebanese government accountable for any action Hizbullah makes against "Israel".

In an interview with the "Israeli" Army Radio, Gantz stated that the Lebanese government cannot acquit its responsibility, and said that "Hizbullah is fighting you, not us," in an indication to former Lebanese PM Fouad Siniora before the "Israeli" aggression on Lebanon in 2006. According to Gantz, "The "Israeli" Army will use all its power to hastily conclude the battle."

As to the events in Syria, Gantz stressed that the gunfire was likely to be directed to "Israel", stating, "We noticed that the rebels in Syria want a war against the regime, but later on, there would be one of two possibilities; rebels would either fight each other or fight "Israel", and I believe that both will happen."
