"Israeli", Greek and US warships began a joint two-week Mediterranean naval exercise on Thursday.
According to "Israeli" army spokesman, "The drill will test a variety of skills, including navigation, search and rescue, fast response to naval crisis situations, medical evacuation and more."
"Noble Dina, one of the navy's scheduled annual exercises, is part of the security cooperation between the Israeli navy and foreign naval forces," the "Israeli" military said its statement.
The statement also said the naval exercise was "an opportunity for mutual learning and for strengthening of the cooperation with its allies."
The exercise reportedly started at a US airbase in Souda Bay in Greece, and will pass south through the Greek island of Megisti, then on through the shores of Cyprus, and will conclude near Haifa.
In parallel, there are reports that the exercise was designed in part to practice protecting offshore gas rigs in Occupied Palestine."
In recent years, the Zionist entity talked of discovering huge gas fields off the Mediterranean shore.
"Israel" and the United States formerly held regular joint naval drills with Turkey. The drills ended when Turkey cut ties with "Israel" in 2011 over the Mavi Marmara incident.
As "Israel's" ties with Turkey began to founder, relations with Greece began to grow warmer. Israel has also upgraded ties with Greek ally Cyprus over the development of its newfound gas fields.
