On January 8, 1998, the Islamic-Resistance fighters blasted a Zionist-Lahd motorcade en route to Ain Ebel near "Center 17". The blast wounded 4 enemy soldiers and 2 Lahd militiamen, one of who was in a critical situation, the agents' channel acknowledged, adding that among the wounded "Israelis" was a senior Zionist officer, in addition to the enemy's channel cameraman Shlomi Everyat.

The Resistance fighters had accurately monitored the "Israeli" convoy, and they had chosen the right place to lie in perfect ambush. As for the convoy, it had just arrived from occupied Palestine, the Resistance sources pointed out.
Consequently, the Zionist military carried out a direct investigation so as to find out whether Hizbullah had previously known the convoy was coming from occupied Palestine for an exchange process.
