Eye on the Enemy: "Israel" Fears Hizbullah’s Missiles
What are the solutions? O'Sullivan, Professor of Law at Harvard University and former advisor in President Obama's administration, indicates two approaches developed by students at the university.
Hizbullah will fire a large number of missiles to "Israel"
"Israeli" Radio
A senior political source said yesterday (Tuesday) that Iran "is playing a game"
in order to acquire facilities. According to the source, the Iranians are attached to their nuclear program, and they do not intend to abandon it. We have already seen what the fate of similar agreements in the past was. The source urged the political friends of "Israel" not to lessen the sanctions against Iran and to be inflexible.
President of the International Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, said an agreement was reached with Iran on its nuclear program. As per his words, the agreement will be signed soon, which will allow the watchdogs to visit its nuclear facilities. Amano declared this announcement in Vienna, after he met Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili.
As stated by Amano, Jalili said that the differences of opinion between the parties did not prevent the achievement of the agreement. Tomorrow, representatives of the major powers are supposed to meet in Baghdad with representatives of Iran for talks on Tehran's nuclear program.
In al-Quds (Jerusalem) they expressed their doubts about the agreement to-be between the (IAEA) and Iran and said that they have seen what the fate of similar previous agreements was since Iran negated several sequential agreements in the past.
Political sources say that it is important to choose between the monitored talks with the (IAEA) and the talks between the major powers and Iran, which will be renewed on Wednesday in Baghdad.
Monitoring is important, but it's not everything. The major powers are not
allowed to make concessions to Iran.
Minister of Intelligence affairs said this morning that the Iranians had already deceived the IAEA and their credibility cannot be relied on. Yesterday, The US Senate passed a law to toughen the economic sanctions against Iran.
Head of the Amano's research department, Itay Baron, said that the international pressures on Iran and its internal situation worry the regime and push it to collaborate with the international community. However, that pressure doesn't change the policy of Iran regarding its nuclear program.
During a debate session at the Committee of Foreign Affairs and Security of the Knesset Baron said that the Iranian's 20% enrichment of the uranium has multiplied by three-and in the end of the year the amount of uranium would be sufficient for one whole nuclear facility. According to his words today Iran does not have the means to enrich uranium to the level of 93% but can do so in half a year or even in a year.
Baron also referred to Hezbollah and said that the organization has surface to sea missiles, unmanned aircrafts, and large amounts of anti-tank missiles and bombs. "When confrontation "Israel", Hizbullah will fire a large numbers of missiles," he said.

"Gas fields will lead to a conflict in the Middle East; Hizbullah may attack'
Globes.co.il - Guy Katsovich
Discoveries of large underwater gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean suggests that the "Israeli" will be less worried about Egypt's decision last month to stop selling natural gas to "Israel" , but there is also a real threat that these gas discoveries could serve as a spur for conflict rather than economic growth. Meghan O'Sullivan estimated wrote this today in her article published in "Bloomberg", in which she warns of a possible conflict between the countries of the Middle East in light of the relatively new discoveries, but also presents possible solutions to any future conflict.
She mentions in the article Tamar and Leviathan fields that were discovered in the Mediterranean in late 2009. "But, because nothing is simple in the Middle East, there is also a real threat that these gas discoveries could serve as a spur for conflict rather than economic growth. Tamar and Leviathan discoveries are generally accepted to fall within "Israel's" exclusive economic zone, and it could be only a matter of time before a field is discovered straddling contested boundaries," she says.
O'Sullivan describes a scenario in which a new gas field is discovered in "Israel's" economic waters, but "bleeds" into the economic waters of Lebanon and / or into Cypriot territorial waters. "Suddenly, the world could face a situation in which Turkey insists that the field not be developed until the problem of a divided Cyprus is resolved, while Hizbullah threatens to take military action against what it sees as an "Israeli" effort to commandeer Lebanese national resources." "The US would be pulled in two directions -- one by its NATO ally Turkey, the other by "Israel"," writes O'Sullivan.
The first posits that the regional conflicts need to be resolved before the gas can be developed. But this solution is "tempered by reality" for she points out that reaching a similar agreement has failed in the past.
"Fortunately there is an alternative to waiting for a complete resolution of longstanding conflicts", explains O'Sullivan, and indicates that there's a possibility that all parties will "agree to disagree", and to start developing the gas and oil fields following agreed-upon guidelines, pending final resolution of the big political issues.
O'Sullivan concludes by saying that "developing eastern Mediterranean gas is worth exploring if more comprehensive peace efforts prove impossible at the time. Too often, politics trumps economics in the Middle East. Let this time be an exception."

Alert groups at the settlements close to Lebanese borders
"Israeli" Army website
To the members of the alert group "Kibbutz Snit", defending their home is a daily task. The alert group, that is formed of members from the Kibbutz (settlements) and trained by the "Israeli" army, is designed to transmit a primary report of each hostile act happens at the borders.
These alert groups are also responsible for protecting the settlements at the borders. In each settlement there is a group whose role is to transmit a quick report in case of hostile acts; during the 1st ten minutes. The "Israeli" army is responsible for all the military needs - weapons, pouches and helmets. Local Defense officer, Gen. Hayeem Adri told the army website that to "guarantee having a quick response, we are training the settlers on giving a primary quick report."
The various alert groups, which are formed of settlers, are trained by the "Israeli" army several times a year; and those who live close to fence, are intensively trained. Trainings include shooting fire and participating in a secret drill in the region. Although they are not regular soldiers, yet they have a big responsibility held on their shoulders.
"Eventually, to have a good quality, they should be trained. In case any real infiltration happened, we will be deploying alert groups that should close all the weak points in the settlements," Adri explained.
