Resistance bloc Stresses on Holding Local Elections on Time, No Matter the Law Adopted
Local Editor, 07-04-2010
Chaired by MP Mohammad Raad, Loyalty to the Resistance bloc (LRB) held its regular meeting in the presence of its members on Wednesday afternoon.
Discussions covered current regional circumstances along with their implications and deterioration, due to the Zionist enemy's persistence to build occupation settlements, and denial of Palestinian rights, additional to its escalation in violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
The bloc believed that one of the main reasons for this persistence in Zionist aggression, is the disintegration in the formal Arab situation, the absence of a decision to confront, and the continued poor betting on international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
While the LRB wished for accomplishing serious reforms in the municipal elections law, it stressed holding the municipal elections, regardless of the law adopted, and for which to provide the appropriate calm climates.
The LRB also felt that the electoral alliance between Hizbullah and Amal movement is a very important step in the context of this course.
The bloc also discussed demands by primary level, vocational and high school teachers, university professors, and those of the General Labor Union, stressing the legitimacy of these demands and the need for the government to address them in a fair and realistic manner.
LRB also called on the government to accelerate the adoption of year 2010 fiscal budget, while raising alarm against increasing tax burdens on the poor social groups.
