Hizbullah... ’The regional super power’ after ’Israel´s’ July aggression
Ibrahim Amin
Since its formation as a comprehensive framework politically, organizationally and ideologically, Hizbullah kept its military body along with its relevant details distanced from the rest of its units.
There was never two parties nor are there now, but the organizational structure made it possible to respect the particularity of the "Jihad body", the very same particularity needed by all resistance frameworks, which is what the other resistance movements are doing throughout the remainder of the Arab world today...
Before the July aggression, Hizbullah and its resistance was, in the eyes of its fans and supporters in Lebanon and abroad, a respected perseverant force, able to confuse the enemy and prevent it from staying in the land. It was a model of strength any Arab side can emulate, a model capable of making the occupier, any occupier sense that the cost of staying is greater than its endurance capacity...
Hizbullah continued, after the liberation in year 2000, its process of building its strength, it felt and knew, as others did, that the war with "Israel" is not over, that the matter is not related to security and military calculations limited to a certain spot or region. There was talk about "Israel" having suffered a setback with implications in more than one area.
Soon after year 2000 came the Palestinian resistance and popular Intifada, to give a more disconcerting signal to "Israel", which has done everything in its power to erase this most visible expression of a resistance movement now ... After that, what happened, happened... until the situation lead to the July aggression which showed the resistance, in the eyes of its fans and supporters, as a much larger force compared to that in their memory, and to the small, medium or strategic calculations.
A few months had not passed after the end of the July aggression, until everyone from the public to States, to the supporting forces of the resistance began to deal with Hizbullah in a different way, a completely different way... Then... what happened between 14 August 2006 and July 12, 2009, happened...
So what happened?
Hizbullah's human growth is now greater, its resistance in particular, its resistance cells have now grown into an integrated army. Its expertise grew greater in all areas of security, military and logistics, materials once in its possession have exponentially grown both quantity and quality; Hizbullah now has a surplus of weapons once prohibited to it, plans or programs Hizbullah had put in the form possible one day, are now a reality, and now it is possible to think about many and very big things, beyond the imagination of some who see Hizbullah merely as local resistance ...
"Israel" itself, after the July aggression, began to reassess the superior view it once held toward the Arab fighter, which has now become subject to scrutiny, research and questions. The "Israeli" army was forced to launch training and work programs exceeding all it has done during the past two decades.
Enemy political, economic and security leaderships began to act on the basis of being faced with a "regional superpower", and that all that was being resorted to of procedures and measures were now a currency no longer exchangeable, furthermore, that what is now required in the "Israeli" mind is to make the necessary preparation for a different kind of confrontation, a war of different conditions, to fight an opponent and enemy of a different kind of...
Hizbullah does not seek a new war, this is a real constant. But Hizbullah is aware of its status as a resistance force, it knows the obligations entrusted to it not to leave the Palestinian resistance combatants to their Lord; it knows the dimension of the hopes and expectations the Arab public places upon it, it also knows well the size of its capabilities, and the size of what it can do in the face of "Israel" ...
If the Lebanese and some Arabs have not realized the extent of the heavy security blow Hizbullah dealt the "Israeli" intelligence services, there are those in Tel Aviv who know what is actually happening .. The resistance has succeeded in effecting a qualitative breach that caused the success of the dismantling operation of a generation of espionage networks in Lebanon and maybe beyond.
Such a process requires human and technical capabilities and mode of thinking that cannot be produced by an administrative decision alone, or with a blink of an eye, it is the result of an accumulated long-term process, reflecting the extent to which the resistance has arrived, even if the enemy succeeded in reaching the most concealed of the party's men, martyr Imad Moghnieh.
Although no one wants to intimidate anyone here, but that "Israel" is seriously considering and on daily basis, ways to provide better confrontation conditions for the next time. Anyone following up its mechanism of action on the security, espionage and military levels, realizes that they are working on having an exceptional level of readiness for when a collision moment arrives. But "Israel", which has spent billions to re-energize itself and enhance its strengths, cannot today claim to have assurances that its new war will bring the expected results.
