A Mines Advisory Group (MAG) volunteer working with a British team was seriously wounded Tuesday while clearing a land mine on the Soueida hill in the Nabatieh area of Arab Salim. Ali Hussein Skaffi, 33, from the neighboring Kfar Sir area, sustained injuries in the face and left hand from the blast. He was immediately rushed to the Lebanese Popular Najda Hospital in Nabatieh for first-aid treatment before he was transferred to the Ghassan Hammoud Hospital in Sidon. The British MAG team has attempted during the past years to de-mine several southern and border areas that were occupied by "Israeli" forces during the 1982 invasion.
