Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem congratulated Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and all Lebanese for the big victory they have achieved with the return of the Lebanese detainees in "Israeli" prisons according to the Resistance preconditions.
In a special interview with Al-Manar during his short visit to Beirut, Moallem said that Syria's happiness for this victory was huge, saying the victory was for the Lebanese people but also for all Arabs and Muslims. He exploited the opportunity to congratulate the Lebanese nation, its brave resistance and its leader Sayyed Nasrallah.
The Syrian FM said he has called senior freed detainee Samir Kintar and invited him to visit Damascus as soon as possible. He noted he was personally very happy for speaking to Kintar who has become an icon after spending 30 years in the "Israeli" enemy jails.
Moallem also expressed happiness for visiting Beirut "the capital of struggle and resistance, the symbol of national unity in Lebanon," adding that he "delivered a message from Syrian president Bachar Al-Assad to his brother President Michel Suleiman and invited him to visit his second homeland Syria."
He expected that Suleiman's visit to Damascus would take place "very soon." He noted, meanwhile, that Syria doesn't object the maintenance of the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Committee although diplomatic relations would be established between the two neighbor states later on.
Moallem also revealed that he was set to visit Iran soon in the framework of the role Syria is playing on the basis of the French request in regards to the Iranian nuclear program issue.
