Defense (War) Ministry employees on Tuesday began changing the captions on the gravestones of "Israeli" Military soldiers killed during the Second Lebanon War.
Following the government`s decision to officially call last summer`s fighting in the north "The Second Lebanon War," the Defense (War) Ministry approached the fallen soldiers` families and suggested a change in the captions of their loves ones` tombstones, from "died at battle" to "died at war."

One hundred and nineteen soldiers were killed during the war.
At the beginning of the week, Defense (War) Ministry officials asked the bereaved families whether they were interested in changing the caption. So far, 73 families gave a positive answer, while five families asked that the caption remain unchanged. Forty-one families have yet to give their answer or were unreachable.
The captions on the gravestones of fallen soldiers whose families approved the move will be changed by Memorial Day for "Israel`s" Fallen Soldiers and Terror Victims, which will take place next Monday.
Since the end of the war, many bereaved parents have demanded that the caption "died at war" appear on their loved ones` tombstones.
