Hizbullah announced in a statement issued on Monday evening that on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, a prisoner exchange took place today (Monday) as an expression of humanitarian goodwill between the both sides.
In the process, Hizbullah freed a Lebanese prisoner, arrested during last July war, and recovered the bodies of two resistance fighters who martyred in that war.
On the other side, the body of an "Israeli" settler of Ethiopian origin was handed over to the Israeli side, to be returned to his family after he had gone missing in Haifa in 2005 and his body pushed to Lebanese beaches by sea currents.
In addition, information related to humanitarian issues of common concern was delivered to a United Nations mediator, to make progress on these issues.
Hizbullah hopes these good intentions assist in helping achieve the desired progress to end all files on prisoners and detainees, God willing.
