Minister Charbel: Security Apparatuses to Receive Specific Telecoms Data
Lebanese Interior Minister, Marwan Charbel, clarified that the mechanism adopted during the Security-Ministerial meeting that convened in Baabda on Saturday, over the telecoms data file, states that the government will hand the security apparatuses the specific telecoms data, required for each crime.
In an interview with as-Safir newspaper, Charbel confirmed that what was agreed upon it to meet the requests of the security apparatuses to pursue the "IMZI" of the mobile phones. The said request allows the tracking down of telecoms movement, even after the line is cut off, Minister Charbel explained.
Minister Charbel indicated that the "IMZI" to be handed in, are the ones related to the suspected phone numbers and not to all numbers.
