Al Akhbar newspaper published a new series of the US embassy cables on the July aggression on Lebanon.

The Leaks mainly discuss four issues: Jaejae saying Hizbullah should be transferred into an internal problem, Marwan Hamedeh again has a share in the scandal, this time on the necessity of establishing an international tribunal to target Syria, Naila Moawwad praising Seniora the ‘real national leader' and slamming Hariri who lost his lure, and Naila Twaini saying Sayyed Nasrallah is the most moderate Shiite leaders, and that she fears his death.
Also, Al Akhbar as well, published documents on the speeches of the "Israeli" army before the US congress, under the title "Amos Yadlin: War goal is to fritter the legendary image of (Sayyed) Hassan Nasrallah" in which Yadlin demonstrates his hostility towards Hizbullah and his readiness to put all his effort to get rid of him.

In a cable dated July, 25 2006, Executive-Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Jaejae expressed his total support to the suggestion of the US ambassador to Lebanon back then, Jeffrey Feltman, to the components of the seize-fire issue. Jeajea, in a meeting with ambassador Feltman, thinks that a cease fire that does not confiscate Hizbullah's weapons will be an 'empty shell'.

Jeajea believes that the surest way to get Hezbollah's weapons is to "transform it into a domestic problem". This, Jeajea believes, along with Israeli attrition should suffice in destroying Hizbullah.... In regards other Lebanese politicos, Jeajea told Feltman that Nabih Berri was 'needed' for some time, but that his popularity will be decreased once Hezbollah is destroyed.
As for Michel Aoun's poularity (so far on the increase), Jeajea shook his head and said that Aoun's base is totally dislocated.

Jaejae also said that Hizbullah and the Shiite Ministers fear leaving the government (at that time) because they realized that the parliament will continue its work and will take decisions without them.

In another cable dated July, 21 2006, Nayla Moawad, the Social Affairs Minister, on her part had a ‘humanitarian' demand during that time, as she asked the US administration to back the Seniora government. The minister described Seniora's performance at the time, expressing her admiration to his work. She described Hariri as ‘lost his lure', while the harshest comments were on MP Gen. Michel Aoun, describing him as a cunning who claims to be pious.
On the seize-fire and the "Israeli" war she said, "If Hizbullah leaves battle victorious, Lebanon will be very different."

Moreover, Nayla Twaini, during a dinner in the US embassy on August, 3 2006 said that the worst that can happen is the killing of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Twaini, along with Rabih Shaher and two other figures assured that "Israel" will remain to be their enemy until a sign treaty is signed between Lebanon and "Israel". They said that Sayyed Nasrallah is the "only man in the government" and that he is a moderate person in comparison to the other Shiite leaders. Shaer in his turn said that Sayyed Nasrallah vowed not to use the Hizbullah weapons inside Lebanon, assuring that the resistance leader has kept his promise. The cable also said the the four figures wanted to see "Israel" weakening Hizbullah, noting that they reject the presence of any armed party inside the Lebanese government.

Amos Yidlin, the head of the "Israeli" intelligence Unit according to a cable issued from the US embassy in Tel Aviv said that the situation and confrontation with Hizbullah is serious. During a meeting in the US congress on the tenth day of the July war, Yadlin said that "Israel" has no interest in enlarging the circle of war, but Hizbullah has crossed the limits and "Israel" cannot ignore that.
Yadlin noted also that the goal of the "Israeli" government is to change the deterrence balance with Lebanon and Hizbullah. He stressed "Hizbullah is engaged in a conflict with the axis of evil which extends from Beirut to Damascus, and which uses terrorism and mass destruction to move on with its goals."
Also, among the goals of "Israel" Yadlin said was the frittering of the legendary image of Hizbullah leader (Sayyed Hassan) Nasrallah, claiming that "Israel" is capable of taking Sayyed Nasrallah out of his hiding place in the Southern Suburb, but it will not.
"The "Israeli" army will make Hizbullah weaker on all levels, and the weak Hizbullah will change the policy of powers balance in Lebanon and start a new diplomatic phase under the rules of the new game," he ended.
