Head of Lebanese Change and Reform Parliamentary Bloc MP Michel Aoun announced that the Saudi-Syrian settlement efforts have failed after reaching a dead end.

In this context, Aoun clarified that PM Saad Hariri and his team's intransigence is what led the settlement to a dead end, thanking the Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and Syrian President Bashar Assad for their constant efforts in reaching a resolution.

In a press conference after his Bloc's weekly meeting, MP Michel Aoun affirmed that there has been a Lebanese official announcement that the settlement failed.

Aoun said he would have preferred if there were a resolution, further stressing that all Lebanese parties should take responsibility of this failure, adding that this failure is a Lebanese failure.

Furthermore, Head of Change and Reform Bloc urged for a Lebanese internal initiative to find a resolution for the current crisis.

On this level, Aoun declared that a new resolution is being discussed with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, adding that a delegation from the opposition leaders visited the President today, Tuesday, to discuss a new resolution.

The delegation included, Head of Marada Movement Suleiman Franjiyeh, Energy and Water Minister Gibran Bassil, Development and Liberation Bloc MP Ali Hassan Khalil, and Hizbullah Secretary General's Political Assistant Hussein Khalil.
