French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the dissolution of the National Assembly following the National Rally's victory in the European elections.

The RN won 32% of the vote, while Macron's Renaissance party received 15.4%, leading to the prompting new parliamentary elections on June 30 and July 7.

Macron emphasized the importance of a clear majority for effective governance, acknowledging the electorate's message.

The RN's historic win was its best in a national election, leading to demands for change from RN leader Jordan Bardella, who criticized Macron's policies.

Marine Le Pen, RN president, stands ready to lead if chosen by the French people. The Socialist Party-Place publique secured third place with 14%, trailed by La France Insoumise and the Republicans at 8.7% and 7.2%. The Reconquest Party received 5.5% of the votes.
