The late Iranian President Ayatollah Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi did everything he could to support the resistance throughout his life. Supporting the mujahideen who are fighting the “Israeli” enemy in southern Lebanon and Palestine was part of Sayyed Raisi’s firm Islamic doctrine from the start of his political life until his martyrdom.

In 2016, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei appointed him custodian of the Holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad. He served in that post for three years before he became president of the Islamic Republic.

As head of the blessed shrine, he visited Lebanon in 2018. He met with the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and talked about the affairs of the resistance, the permanent confrontation with “Israel”, and advancing everything that would strengthen the banner of Islam.

During his visit to Lebanon, Sayyed Raisi set his sights on the South. He moved to one of the resistance posts in Iqlim al-Tuffah on January 28, 2018. There he met with field commanders from the Islamic Resistance. Accompanied by the mujahid Hajj Abu Ali Hijazi, he toured the locations of the resistance fighters, inspected their readiness, and listened to explanations about the weapons they possessed.

“This day is important to me because I’m standing among you, O Mujahideen ... You are the ones who stood for the sake of God in front of the enemies, and, God willing, the favor of Imam Rida [peace be upon him] includes you […] and I pray every day for His Eminence Sayyed Nasrallah,” Sayyed Raisi was quoted as saying at the time.

Today, southern Lebanon misses a great person who loved and supported it and its resistance. The passing of Sayyed Raisi was shocking, but it will certainly have a pure impact on the souls of those who feel the sincerity of his loyalty to the Husseini line that rebels against injustice.
