Lebanon Registers 43 COVID-19 Deaths, 2,823 New Cases

Lebanon registered 43 more coronavirus-related deaths and 2,823 new cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Monday.
The cases were detected among 10,606 tests, with only 16 cases found among travelers arriving at Beirut International Airport. The positivity rate throughout the last two weeks stood at 17.5 percent.
The total number of cases since coronavirus was first detected in Lebanon on Feb. 21, 2020 now stands at 397,871, according to figures released by the Health Ministry. The total number of fatalities has risen to 5,089.
The statistics provided by the Health Ministry also show that 2,303 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 and related complications, with 925 in the ICU and 275 requiring ventilators.
Lebanon's National Operations Room meanwhile reported that there were no jabs administered over the past 24 hours as Sundays are not included in the rollout schedule, and so the total number of people vaccinated since the Feb. 14 start of the campaign remains at 76,186.
