The US-led coalition, which has been present in the region under the pretext of fighting Daesh [the Arabic acronym for terrorist ‘ISIS/ISIL’ group], has begun withdrawing hundreds of its occupation soldiers from bases in Iraq and deploy them outside the country.

The move signals that Washington hopes to drastically reduce its military presence, but more precisely it reflects the promise of resistance leaders to end the US presence in the Middle East region after the US coward assassination on Iraqi soil of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps [IRGC] Quds Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi Paramilitary Group Hashd al-Shaabi Second-in-Command Hajj Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and their comrades.

Martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis had played a key and unique role in defeating Daesh in the region.

US officials said they were withdrawing from three of the coalition's eight bases in Iraq.

Many of the soldiers will be withdrawn from al-Qaim base, near the Syrian border, while the move will end any US presence along the Iraqi side of the border with Syria.
