The “Israeli” entity’s cabinet members met on Sunday for more than four hours with recent Gaza tensions looming over security concerns.

The Israeli” entity’s so-called Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz addressed the escalation on the entity’s southern border, saying he estimates a military operation could be inevitable.

“We hoped to reach an arrangement before a large operation, but the way it seems now, we might be forced to launch a large military operation and only then reach an understanding,” he told the “Israeli” entity’s Army Radio after the meeting ended.

"If there will be no choice and we will want to remove the Hamas regime, it will have to be a ground [operation], and that has its price," he explained.

Kicking off the meeting, interim “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned, “We are in the midst of a very sensitive, volatile security period. In more than one arena. In the north, east [Jordan] and south.'

Chairman of the Jewish Home party and Education Minister Rafi Peretz said “I am a resident of the Gaza periphery communities... This [situation] cannot continue. The heads of Hamas will need to pay the price for this,” “Israeli” broadcaster Channel 12 reported.

Channel 12 reported that the entity’s security forces believe that the Islamic Jihad is responsible for the barrage of rockets fired at the entity on Friday night.
