Lebanon’s House Speaker, Nabih Berri, criticized the Lebanese government's rejection of coordinating with Syria over refugees' repatriation and opening of crossings between the two countries.

"Our government is still burying its head in the sand and refuses to talk to Syria," Berri said during a reception ceremony hosted Monday in his honor by Lebanese Ambassador to Jordan, Tracy Chamoun, in presence of Jordanian Speaker Atef Tarawneh.

In his word, Berri tackled the points of convergence between Lebanon and Jordan, including their borders with Occupied Palestine and the continuous coordination to fight terrorism.

Furthermore, he underlined that after the government formation, Lebanon awaited the executive power to address the critical dossier of electricity.

Accordingly, Berri noted that Jordan King Abdullah II had expressed readiness to trade electricity for water with Lebanon.

He added that the government must launch prosecutions over corruption and start oil extraction.
