At least two Palestinians were martyred after being shot by “Israeli” soldiers close to Gaza's border fence, in 46th week of the great 'March of Return' protests.

Thousands of Palestinians protested on Friday at the Gaza border in the 46th week of the Great March of Return protests. The protesters demanded the lifting of Gaza's “Israeli”-imposed blockade.

Gaza's Ministry of Health confirmed that at least two Palestinians were shot and martyred by “Israeli” soldiers, one of them a 14-year-old teenager Hassan Iyad Shibli who died after he was fatally shot in the chest during a Great March of Return protest east of the city of Khan Yunis, located about 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of Gaza City, on Friday.

Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement, at least ten people were shot and injured by the “Israeli” army. The “Israeli” military regularly use live rounds against peaceful unarmed Palestinian protesters.

Qidra added that Hamza Mohammed Roshdi Ashtiwi, 17, died east of the Gaza Strip after he was hit in the neck with a live bullet.

Furthermore, he noted that 17 demonstrators suffered gunshot wounds, while dozens of Palestinians suffered excessive tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces sought to suppress the anti-occupation rallies.

Medical sources said six people were injured while participating in a demonstration at Malika refugee camp east of the Gaza Strip.

The Great March of Return protests were launched on 30 March 2018 by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza--who have suffered from a decade-long “Israeli” siege.

Since Palestinians began holding rallies along the buffer zone in March of last year, more than 250 protesters had been martyred and thousands more injured by “Israeli” army gunfire.
