According to Bahraini Lualua TV channel, the apartheid Al Khalifa regime "insists on prosecuting the people on March 14."

On June 20 2016, the Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a decree revoking the citizenship of Sheikh Qassim, which sparked reactions of anger from Arab and foreign religious and political figures.

While the Public Prosecution accused him of "money laundering" for managing the religious Shia obligation of Khums [alms] funds.

On Sunday, Bahraini protestors denounced the regime's ongoing prosecution of Sheikh Qassim, warning the authorities of "committing another foolish mistake."

Angry demonstrators clashed with regime forces in a number of areas across the island kingdom. In an attempt to disperse the protesters, regime forces used tear gas canisters and shotgun pellets [birdshot].

Hundreds of protesters then performed evening prayers in the open protest site in Diraz and in mosques. Worshipers chanted slogans, wishing peace upon Bahrain and Sheikh Qassim.
