Hizbullah's nature of reaction on the assassination of top military commander martyr Imad Moghnieh is still making 'Israeli' political, military, and security official circles sleepless. 'Israeli' media has revealed that 'Israel' is on high alert against a possible Hizbullah retaliation especially that the 40-day mourning period for martyr Moghnieh will be next Saturday, that according to 'Israeli' s "marks the countdown of Hizbullah's response".
Although the 'Israeli' media said that the government hadn't mentioned yet any actual preparations for a retaliatory attack, but it fears the attack would target 'Israeli' security personnel. This has urged authorities in 'Israel' to issue recommendations for the abroad military attachés to change their way of movement. It also urged former military officials to be cautious when traveling abroad since it's impossible to stop attacks against them.
"The estimations show that Hizbullah will immediately try to launch a relatively unimportant attack against a certain figure, but planning for the massive attack would take them months.'Israel' with its embassies all over the world has been in an unprecedented state of high alert since years", channel 10's military correspondent Alon Bin David said.
However, the channel unveiled deep concern within the 'Israeli' community that Hizbullah will not settle for targeting just one figure, instead it will plan to launch a massive attack as to downing airplanes or targeting 'Israeli' embassies abroad.
"They'll attack wherever they think would result in severe damage in terms of killing as much people as possible. This should be taken into consideration", Yacoub Amy Dror, the former chief 'Israeli' Intelligence Research Department said.
Despite the fact that 'Israeli' official circles say that Hizbullah's reaction is certainly coming, they think that the Islamic resistance won't react in a way that would result in a war with 'Israel'.
"It's true that Hizbullah is working hard on retaliating but they are saying they don't want war. The true question is how would they react without dragging 'Israel' to war? The answer is that they will make a secondary but sharp operation rather than a massive one", Tsvika Yehezkeli, an 'Israeli' specialist in Arab affairs, said.
In an indication to a state of confusion and anticipation crowned with severe tense, channel 10 described the promotion of the documentary film "The Third Destruction" -which Al-Manar TV broadcasts net Wednesday- as part of the countdown towards the shaking Hizbullah reaction, although the film that addresses both military and security consequences of the war on 'Israel' was finished before Moghnieh's martyrdom.
