Iranian Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday morning to hold talks with EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton later in the day.

Iran, G5+1 Kick New Round of Nuclear TalksJalili and Ashton will meet in Istanbul today to follow up on the last round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 [US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany] held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on April 5-6.

Last month, Iran and the G5+1 wrapped up two days and four rounds of intensive negotiations in Almaty after the delegations of the world powers demanded further consultations with their capitals.

Meanwhile, Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh and the agency's Deputy Director General and Head of the Safeguards Department Herman Nackaerts opened the talks.

"Differences remain but we ... are determined to solve these issues," Nackaerts clarified.
The ongoing talks are the 10th round of the negotiations between Tehran and the IAEA over the Islamic Republic's nuclear energy program since early 2012.
In an interview with Press TV on Monday, Soltanieh said he expected progress to be made in this round of the talks.

The previous round of the negotiations was held in mid-February in Iran's capital, Tehran.
