The former head of the so- called "National Opposition Coalition" launched Sunday a blistering attack on the "coalition".


Out of Opposition Coalition, Al-Khatib Warns of New Sykes-Picot in SyriaIn a televised interview, al-Khatib described the coalition as a tool to pass international and regional resolutions, that do not serve the Syrian people's interests.
"I found it necessary to leave this body [the coalition], and serve the Syrian people, from outside the coalition, because there are many things I do not agree with," he announced.

Al-Khatib further said : "There are vague agreements for me."

In this context, he recalled the establishment of the military council, in the absence of any of the coalition's leaders. Moreover, he highlighted some of the people associated with regional countries dictated unknown things.
"The establishment of the so-called "transitional government" based on foreign dictates, away from any ground bases, serves as an introduction to divide Syria," he warned.

Meanwhile, al-Khatib revealed that "as Qatar and Saudi Arabia control the coalition's decision, they argue over the name of the head of the transitional government as well as its tasks."

"Some names are dectiated from the outside," he said, and urged "George Sabra, Riad Seif, Suheir Atassi, and Mustafa Sabbagh to resign from the coalition and work in other committees other and refrain from selecting a president."
When asked about the existence of communication with the regime, al-Khatib clarified that "there is no direct contact."

However, he insisted the need for a direct dialogue, referring to his initiative in this context.
"The initiative was opposed by some sides, that aim at weakening the state as well as the revolution and continuing fight," al-Khatib added.
The opposition figure warned of Western attempt to create a new Sykes-Pico to re-divide Syria and turn it into a country of minorities.
