The Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdelkarim Ali stated after meeting the Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, "Syria is subject to a war that targets the whole region and aims at weakening it."

"Syria does not need, as an army or organization, someone to fund and arm it, but only needs the parties supplying militiamen with money and weapons to halt so that the crisis in Syria would end," Ali stressed.
"Syria, dealing with Takfiri forces two years and two months ago, befuddled US and "Israel's" political and intelligence bids," he added.
Moreover, he pointed out that some media outlets turn facts around, such as claiming that the resistance in Lebanon sends men in Syria.
"This matter negatively impacts Lebanon and Jordan, and will backfire on countries that provoked," Ali reiterated, highlighting, "The borderline villages have Syrians and Lebanese residents and the Lebanese in these villages resist terrorists who assault their lives and security."
