Moving on the track of the so-called Free Syrian Army, Ahmad al-Assir announced Monday night the formation of the so-called "Free Resistance Brigades" to fight in al-Qseir Syrian region.
At a news conference at Bilal bin Rabah Mosque in east Sidon, al-Assir called for fighting along the armed groups in Syria, particularly in al-Qseir."
The extremist Sheikh also called for forming "secret armed groups consisting of 5 members."
Al-Assir's decision moved Sidon into a state of anticipation and caution after the man decided to drag the city into a great conflict.
"Every Muslim in Lebanon or abroad is duty-bound to respond to the fight appeal and support the oppressed in Syria, particularly in al-Qusair," al-Assir claimed in his statement.
Similarly, Tripoli's Sheikh Salem al-Rafei called for "a general mobilization".
He further urged Tripoli's men for complete readiness.
Addressing his followers at Taqwa Mosque in Tripoli, al-Rafei said: "We will be sending the first batch of armed men to fight alongside the Syrian armed militias in al-Qseir."
