Units of Syrian Armed Forces on Sunday restored security and stability to Saqrajeh town in the countryside of al-Qseir in Homs after inflicting heavy losses upon armed groups.

Syrian Army Controls Al-QseirA military source informed SANA that the army took full control over Saqrajeh after units of the Armed Forces eliminated the terrorists who spread in the town to the last one and destroyed their equipment.
The source added that the engineering units dismantled a number of explosive devices of various weights that had been planted by the terrorists at the crossroads in the town.

This comes as an official source announced the restoration of security and stability to the villages and towns of al-Sukmanieh, Qadish, al-Mansourieh, al-Radwanieh, al-Saadieh and al-Burhanieh in the countryside of al-Qseir.
"Most of the militants in these areas were eliminated with their gatherings completely destroyed," the source mentioned.

Al-Qsei has been under rebel control for more than a year. The frontier region near Homs holds strategic value because it links Damascus with the coastal enclave, and is home to the country's two main seaports, Latakia and Tartous.

The army, meanwhile, secured the road linking the Lebanese-Syrian border along the Orontes river to the west of al-Qseir.

In the town of Daraya, Damascus countryside, Syrian Army units destroyed terrorist gatherings and weapon caches, killing a number of terrorists including Ezzo Khoulani, Khalil Mohammad and a Libyan nicknamed Abu Rashid.
In addition, the army engaged foreign-backed militants in the village of Khan al-Shih, some 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of the capital. Scores of gunmen were killed in the fighting, SANA said.

Meanwhile, Syrian bomb disposal teams found and defused four remote-controlled improvised explosive devices, weighing 50 kilograms each, near a mosque in the village.
