Larijani: Syria’s Resistance against Terrorists will Lead to Victory

Iranian House Speaker Ali Larijani stressed the need to keep up resistance efforts against foreign-backed terrorist gangs in Syria, expressing confidence that the Syrian people and government will ultimately achieve victory.
In his meeting with Syria's Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, Larijani said: "Persisting with resistance efforts and the strengthening of people's front against terrorist groups will ultimately lead to the victory of the Syrian people and government."

The top Iranian official further underlined that the resistance of the Syrian people and government against various attacks and vicious plots by the terrorist gangs in the country and their foreign backers has so far achieved great results.

He then noted that the principal goal of the foreign-backed militants in Syria is to destabilize the country and "break the line of revolutionary resistance" by the Syrian nation and rulers "against the expansionist policies of the Zionist entity and its Western and regional supporters."
For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud offered a report on the latest political developments in his country, pointing to major gains in the fight against various plots and terrorist activities.

"The aim of the terrorist gangs and their foreign sponsors is to destroy the economic infrastructures and oust a government that stands in the front line of the resistance against the Zionist regime," the Syrian envoy added.

He further reiterated that both the planners and the executers of the vicious plots against the Syrian nation have failed in their efforts.
