Saudi-Backed Regime Forces Attack Protesters: Bahrain
Local Editor
Saudi-backed regime forces in Bahrain attacked protesters in the capital Manama and the northwestern village of al-Diraz on Monday.
Forces used shotguns and poisonous gas to disperse protesters in Manama.
The Bahraini revolution witnessed unrest since mid-February 2011 and many acts of oppression and injustice had been enforced on the peaceful non-armed demonstrations and marches. Many activists, such as Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, were arrested during peaceful demonstrations and being oppressed in their sentences.
Al-Khawaja, along with his daughter, Zeinab, are on hunger strike, protesting the regime's oppression.
