The assistant of the Iranian Ambassador to Damascus, Abbas Kalro, confirmed that "some Arab states are adamant to exacerbate the crisis in Syria to shed more blood of innocent Syrians and widen the scope of destruction."
In remarks made to "al-Ahed" news site, Kalro said that the Arab states, through the way they are dealing with the Syrian crisis, are making historic mistakes indelible from the Syrian and Arab memories. "The Arab League's decision to grant a seat to the Syrian opposition is a dangerous precedent and heresy that would turn the tables on them one day," he said.

Kalro: Some Arab States Complicating Syrian Crisis Commenting on the Syrian National Dialogue forum recently held in Damascus, Kalro said the conference's outcome was good and fruitful, as the closing statement shone light on what would contribute to solving the Syrian crisis. He then noted the necessity to hold an unconditioned national dialogue as a sole loophole to exit the crisis and the necessity to cease violence. He also pointed out at all sides' agreement to hold the colonialist West and some affiliated regional states responsible for the current destruction and blockade on Syria, and to set dossiers with a view to trying the international officials and condemning the decision of the Arab League which flouted its own charter and encouraged the armed opposition.

"This forum is a sequel of Tehran meeting where the components of the Syrian people, from the national opposition and the regime supporters, got together to discuss their country's domestic affairs, in a neutral climate and away from any foreign pressures and dictations," he added.

Kalro indicated that Tehran meeting begot the formation of a national dialogue follow-up committee which in turn called for holding the second national dialogue forum in Damascus.

He also maintained that the Islamic Republic of Iran, ever since the fabricated crisis in Syria, has endeavored to nip strife in the bud in "this dear country," and has laid many initiatives through the diplomatic channels, such as the six-point plan, to exit the crisis and assuage the sufferance of the Syrian people. Indeed, he avowed that Iran did not shrug off the just demands of the Syrian people, deeming what is happening in Syria as totally different from what the people has been seeking.

Besides, Kalro spurned the accusations of Damascus of using chemical weapons, corroborating that Tehran does believe that the Syrian regime has no problem with its people and that it cannot fight its own people. "This is rather a war with foreign powers and extremist elements," he said.

"We have no doubt at all that irresponsible extremist sides used the chemical weapons in Khan al-Assal," he stressed, reminding that few months earlier, and within the context of a made up scenario, the US has warned of the possibility that the Syrian regime would resort to using chemical weapons against the people.
He said that Iran realized that this scenario aimed to pave the way for using chemical weapons by the extremist groups so that the regime would be eventually accused of this crime, in order to create a climate of international pressure on Syria to pass schemes they seek to execute inside the country.
