Suleiman: Baabda Declaration Needs Local, Regional Reinforcement

Lebanese President, Michel Suleiman, stressed Tuesday that Baabda Declaration became in dire need for a local and regional reinforcement.
In his speech to the Arab League's summit in Doha, Suleiman confirmed: "The need for such a reinforcement comes in light of the non-commitment, shown by some local sides, to keeping Lebanon disassociated from the Syrian crisis and from making out of the country [Lebanon] a base for smuggling weapons on the Lebanese Syrian borders."
"The duties of abiding by Baabda Declaration and of preserving Lebanon's stability, unity and national peace are a priority," said Suleiman, and noted that "such duties are also a joint Lebanese Arab responsibility."
Turning to the Syrian refugees file, Suleiman asked the Arab and the international community to study the probability of holding a special international conference, tasked to look into said file on the basis of the joint responsibility.
"The displaced refugees' problem burdened down Lebanon's general condition, especially that the number of the displaced has almost reached a quarter of Lebanon's population," the President warned.
In parallel, he affirmed Lebanon's keenness on the best relation with Arab countries on the basis of solidarity and fraternity. He refused any interference in the domestic affairs of any Arab country.
