Iran Summons Swiss Envoy over Rebel’s Use of Chemical Weapons

Swiss Charge D' Affair was summoned to Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday to be informed of Iranˈs protest to use of chemical arms in Syria.
In a meeting on Wednesday, Deputy Director General of the Political-International Affairs Department at Foreign Ministry, Mohsen Naziri, told the Swiss diplomat that the government supporting insurgents in the country is responsible for the act.
Naziri emphasized that Tehran already warned against such crimes. "We emphasized that the US government had the responsibility to prevent the rebelsˈ access to chemical arms and their use."
As active member of the Convention on Chemical Arms and as the major victim of such arms, recalled all governmentsˈ responsibility to prevent use of chemical arms, expecting all government to candidly and rapidly condemn such moves and spare no efforts to prevent repetition of them, said Naziri.
Naziri also urged unbiased investigation of such crimes and of those supplying terrorists in Syria with such weapons.
The Swiss Charge DˈAffairs in turn vowed to pass the information to the US government speedily.
At least 25 people were killed and 86 others injured after militants fired missiles containing poisonous gas into Aleppo's Khan al-Assal village on Tuesday. Women and children are reported to be among the victims.
