Sheikh Hammoud to al-Asir: Stop Your Madness, Who Gave You Authority to Define Sunnis?

Imam of al-Quds Mosque in Sidon, Sheikh Maher Hammoud called on the controversial Sheikh Ahmad al-Asir to righteousness and good and to retreat from corruption and crime.
In a press conference held on Thursday afternoon, Sheikh Hammoud addressed "the Petrol Kings" who "waste Muslim money on corruption, unlike Iran, which produces nuclear energy, planes, cars, and funds Palestinians supportively just for the sake of [liberating al-Quds]."
Moreover, the Sheikh warned of the sectarian secession being prepared for Sidon, addressing Ahmad al-Asir, "Be pious to Allah before it's too late. Don't fool yourself that you would present anything to the Islamic calling."
On a similar note, Sheikh Hammoud questioned, "Who gave you the authority to define Sunnis?"
"We are more Sunni than Wahhabist radicalists; learn from us before it is too late. Your pride kept you from listening to righteousness and understanding the Holy Quran," he added.
"Our Shiite brethren in politics apply Islam, and the resistance performs their duties of Islam as Allah ordered," Sheikh Hammoud stressed, clarifying that the rented apartments in Sidon that Ahmad al-Asir claimed young men from Hizbullah inhabit "have been there for 25 years, and we know them well."
"We will not allow your madness to take the country to a place none of Sidon's people want to go to," he stated.
Earlier, the Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned during a televised speech on Wednesday that "some parties are pushing Lebanon in a very rapid manner to sectarian strife and working on that night and day and all the facts verify this issue."
