Lebanese Defense Minister, Fayez Ghosn, confirmed Monday that the Lebanese people believe that the their army is their first and last shelter as well as their protective shield.
In an interview with as-Safir Lebanese newspaper urged all Lebanese to refrain from blocking roads and burning tires. "Those who want to express solidarity with the LA must do that in a civilized manner," he stressed.
Meanwhile, he called the Lebanese to be aware of the delicacy and the dangers surrounding this stage. "Let the LA carry out its great tasks all over the Lebanese territories," Ghosn said.
The minister further viewed that the "main thing that the Lebanese might offer their army is acting responsibly in face of the recent developments, in addition to not allowing anyone to destabilize their faith in their nation and army."
"What the Lebanese showed from faith in their military institution made the LA in front of greater responsibilities," he told as-Safir, and noted that more responsibilities "the Lebanese are demanded now more than ever to embrace the military and its leadership, that showed throughout the stages that Lebanon passed through, wisdom in dealing with all things."
In response to the rumors targeting the LA, Ghosn used the Arabic proverb : "Wind not to shaken the mountain."
"No rumor can completely veil the truth, as it is not possible that a black cloud obscures the sunshine for a long time," the Lebanese official assured.
