Lebanese Foreign Minister received Thursday the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Ghadanfar Roknabadi.
After the meeting the Iranian envoy tackled the latest developments on both International and regional levels as well as cooperation between both countries.
Regarding his Wednesday meeting with the former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, , Roknabadi described the meeting as "good and positive".
"We exchanged opinions on the recent regional developments particularly the repercussions of Syrian crisis on Lebanon and the means to avoid them," he said.
He further stressed the importance of the Iranian initiative, which comes in line with the Syrian initiative to solve the crisis and to concentrate on the political solution since the military option reached a deadlock.
"In this context, we have provided a full explanation on the latest developments, especially in Syria, and the repercussions by which Lebanon can be affected," Roknabadi mentioned.
On the internal Lebanese arena, the Iranian ambassador assured: "As long as the Lebanese political parties have wise leaderships, and assess issues with precision and awareness, there is no fear or concern on Lebanon."
He further urged all Lebanese sides to consolidate and unify to confront their only enemy, "Israel".
On the Lebanese hostages in Syria, , Roknabadi confirmed that "whether the Lebanese FM asked for Iran's help or not, Tehran, from a humane aspect, would not spare any effort to serve human issues, including this one."
Asked about the Lebanese parliamentary elections, the ambassador viewed that "this is a national Lebanese issue."
He also confirmed his country's keen on Lebanon's unity and support to the Lebanese consensus.
