Berri: Lebanon Began Pragmatic Oil Excavation Phase

Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed Saturday that "Lebanon began the pragmatic phase of oil excavation."
In an interview with an-Nahar Lebanese daily, Berri assured that "we can say that the debt today rests on the future of oil rather than our children."
In light of the positive events that had occurred in 2012, he stated, "These include the proceeding of the oil file, the Litani river file, and Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Lebanon."
Furthermore, Berri denied any knowledge of March 14 forces suggesting any names for an impartial government.
In this context, the Speaker stressed that "the current important issue is that the parliamentary subcommittee holds its role ahead of sending its results to the parliament, which will give its final word on the awaited electoral law."
