Mikati: Elections on Time, Lebanon on Oil Track

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed Friday that his government "is committed to the principles of the state."
In a meeting with the Grand Serail staff and the accredited journalists, Mikati highlighted that "we have no choice but to live together."
"We can differ in politics and other issues as long in condition that this doesn't harm the state," the PM confirmed.
According to Mikati, "The concept of the state should override the sectarian and confessional calculations."
"The Lebanese tried all types of disputes as well as fragmenting the country but they failed," he said, and pointed out that "they also tried to obliterate each other. However, they discovered that we are all rooted in this country."
He further clarified that " our fate is to stay under the cloak of the united Lebanon. We need to ensure stability in all its aspects and any attempt to tamper with it will have a negative impact on Lebanon."
In parallel, Mikati warned that "danger does not discriminate between one category and another. Dialogue is the only way to maintain stability."
On another level, the PM assured that "despite all what we are seeing. Do not be afraid of external threats, because our country is stronger than any foreign earthquake."
"However, it is weak in front of any internal shake," Mikati cautioned.
Moreover, Mikati voiced confidence that "the parliamentary elections in 2013 will be held on time and based on a modern election law."
"As far as the economy is concerned, Lebanon has been placed on the track of oil producing countries," he concluded.
