National Struggle Front Leader MP Walid Jumblatt viewed Saturday that "UNRWA" agency is responsible for the Palestinians in the camps, but we do know that its potential is currently limited.
In an interview with as-Safir Lebanese daily, Jumblatt highlighted that "until now, and thanks to some Lebanese Labor ministers, there is a theoretical law in Lebanon that allows Palestinians work in Lebanon."
"There must be an international extra effort to help the displaced Palestinians," he stressed, and noted that "a labor law must emerge away from the racism of some Lebanese leaders towards the Palestinians."
He further urged all sides to act and help this stricken people on the Arab territories as well as in Palestine.
Meanwhile, Jumblatt slammed the fact that the declaration of Palestine as a UN observer state wasn't attended by any representative of the Arab countries. Only the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglo was present.
"Arabs should dedicate a small amount of their huge resources to serve the Palestinian people rather than build in the deserts delusive towers that have no value and will turn into sand once oil is depleted," the MP confirmed.
In response to a question regarding the Lebanese government role, he called the cabinet to consolidate the Higher Relief Council in providing assistance to Syrian refugees.
Regarding the displaced Palestinians, Jumblatt stated that only UNRWA deals with the Palestinian refugees at the camps.
"We also know that its budget is very limited and the contributions of Arab countries are worthless," he said.
