Islamic Emirate Ignites Future Movement-Mikati Debate

As Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati assumed that an Islamic Emirate would have been established in Tripoli if the LA hadn't deployed there, the Future bloc refused his statements.
In its statement, the bloc described Mikati's declaration as "a political scandal."
The bloc claimed: "Mikati's speech did the Syrian regime a favour in indicating that Tripoli is the centre of terrorism and radicalism."
"It is a message addressed to the international community that Mikati protects Lebanon from Tripoli's radicalism," the statement read.
However, PM Mikati's sources accentuated in an interview with as-Saffir Lebanese daily that "the bloc had cut the PM's speech and distorted it to end him after the opposition's failure of ousting Mikati."
Sources further reiterated that what Mikati stated in a press conference was that Tripoli's residents are part of the government, and the LA prevented the establishment of extra-governmental groups.
Moreover, the PM is expected to respond to stances targeting the government in Wednesday's ministerial session, as al-Jamhouria Lebanese newspaper reported.
Mikati commented on the latest clashes in Tripoli by accentuating, "If the LA had not initiated its role in Tripoli, an extra-governmental Emirate would have been established."
This stance moved Head of the Future Bloc Fouad Siniora to respond, "[PM Mikati] presents the excuses that the Syrian regime needs to declare Tripoli the city of radicalism."
