Despite the weakness of his body due to 140 days of hunger strike, the Palestinian detainee Samer al-Issawi was assaulted Tuesday in the hall of an "Israeli" court.
The wheelchair bounded man was beaten all over his body for trying to touch the hands of his mother. Similarly, "Israeli" soldiers attacked his family members in a courthouse in al-Quds.

In this context, the director of "Defense of Freedoms" Helmi Araj told as-Safir Lebanese daily, "As Samer was trying to touch his mother, "Israeli" soldiers began to beat him all over his body, particularly his face and chest."
For his part, Jawad Boulos, the head of the legal department at the Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed that "Issawi was in shackled hands and feet, and his family was beaten."
"Issawi appeared before the "Israeli" judge bleeding from his neck and nose, and suffering from pain in his chest," Boulos said, and noted that: "the judge did nothing but asked that Issawi be treated by the doctor after the court."
The Palestinian lawyer further revealed that "as he was leaving the courtroom, Issawi was beaten again by "Israeli" soldiers, who tried to prevent him from talking to the media."

Meanwhile, Issawi's sister was arrested from their East al-Quds home on Tuesday.
According to Ad-Dameer rights group, the sister was detained by "Israeli" forces in Issawiya after she tried to access her brother's court hearing earlier in the day.
The family was blocked by "Israeli" forces at the court when they tried to greet Samer, and later denied access to the court.
