Ministerial Session to Deliberate Saqr’s Immunity: Lebanon
Local Editor
The Lebanese Government will hold a ministerial session Tuesday morning in the Grand Serail in a "purely political session", al-Akhbar Lebanese newspaper foresaw.
The Government's majority will deliberate four points related to the latest developments;
1- MP Oqab Saqr's file, where al-Akhbar indicated that the ministers "will propose lifting Saqr's immunity" in light of his confession of being involved in provoking murder in Syria.
2- A number of Lebanese men fighting in Syria and the impacts they impose, especially that they belong to the Salafist sect.
3- The abducted Lebanese file in light of information Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour had of a Turkish delay.
4- The opposition parliamentary boycott and its irrelevance with ratifying an electoral law.
On another note, al-Akhbar Newspaper cited sources from Prime Minister Najib Mikati that the Intelligence Department's request in retrieving Lebanese text messages will be approved or rejected by the government.
Sources further expected that PM Mikati will not deliberate this file outside the ministerial agenda since the session will be held in the Grand Serail, preferring that it be discussed in the Ministerial Session held on December 10 headed by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman.
Ministerial sources, however, reiterated that this request will certainly be denied in either way.
