Head of the Palestinian Resistance Hamas Movement's Political Bureau Khalid Mashaal stressed Monday that ""Israel" was strongly surprised by the Palestinians' military capabilities after it had launched its aggression on Gaza."
During a press conference in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, he highlighted: "Palestinians are ready for all possible conditions."
Mashaal, who was in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials who are trying to broker a ceasefire, unveiled "Israel" had sought a truce.
""Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the US, Europe and Egypt asking for a truce," he unveiled.
In parallel, the Hamas official said: "We are not against a calming, but we want our demands... to end the thuggery, to end the aggression and to lift the blockade."
He further declared that "the resistance would reject any "Israeli" preconditions for a ceasefire, because they started the aggression."
Moreover, Mashaal responded to "Israeli" threats by saying: "The Zionist regime's ground aggression on Gaza is not unlikely, yet all options are possible and the Resistance is prepared to confront any of these possibilities."
He further reiterated Palestinians' military power and full readiness: "Netanyahu and the his army were strongly surprised and disturbed by the Palestinians' military capabilities and their response to the "Israeli" aggression on Gaza."
"It was us, not them, who surprised the enemy," Mashaal said, and noted that "Netanyahu aimed to repair "Israel's" deterrence power and destroy the infrastructures of the Palestinian resistance, but he failed to do so."
Meanwhile, the Hamas top official confirmed: "We could exercise deterrence with our firm will and resolve."
"We are sure that we will have a high morale in the battlefield and all people in Gaza are one soul in a single body," he reassured.
Over 100 Palestinians have so far been killed and more than 700 others injured in the new wave of "Israeli" attacks on the Gaza Strip which started on Wednesday.
